Symptoms

 A network connection reset can manifest in several different symptoms.

 

To name a few:

  1. When establishing a connection, an application might report a "Connection timeout" error.
  2. An application or system service might return an "ECONNRESET" error.
  3. An application or system service might return a "Connection refused" error.

 

These are just a few examples, there are other scenarios related to network connectivity problems that this document might apply.

Changes

 

 The destination host or a network device in between might have had a network configuration change recently.
