Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A to N/A [Release 1.0]
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 5.0 and later
Linux x86-64

A network connection reset can manifest in several different symptoms.

To name a few:

  1. When establishing a connection, an application might report a "Connection timeout" error.
  2. An application or system service might return an "ECONNRESET" error.
  3. An application or system service might return a "Connection refused" error.

These are just a few examples, there are other scenarios related to network connectivity problems that this document might apply.

The destination host or a network device in between might have had a network configuration change recently.
