White Page Hangs Indefinitely When Attempting to Login to P6 Professional with SSO Authentication After Upgrade to 22.7 (Doc ID 2889496.1)

After upgrading to 22.7 or 21.12.7 and installing WebView2 v92.0.902.73, when attempting to login to Primavera P6 Professional to the following error occurs:

Bad Alias/connection name, SAML SSO Authentication failed.

Prior to the error message, the embedded browser which launches for SSO authentication displays a white page and hangs indefinitely.

The %TEMP%\Primavera.CacheService.log file contains the following exception:

Error Unhandled exception: System.NotImplementedException: Unable to cast to Microsoft.Web.WebView2.Core.Raw.ICoreWebView2Environment7. This may happen if you are using an interface not supported by the version of the WebView2 Runtime you are using.



P6 Professional code should execute a WebView2 minimal version check and fall back to IE controls if a supported version does not match the installed version.

The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

  1. Install WebView2 v92.0.902.73.
  2. Attempt P6 Professional login configured for Cloud Connect / SSO.
