When an instance is scheduled to undergo a maintenance event, such as reboot, disable, terminate for virtual machines (VM), reboot for database (DB) systems, and bare metal (BM) instances, you must contact Oracle Support and request an extension or (in the case of DenseIO disablement) reinstatement of the instance.
Surfacing accurate maintenance information via multiple channels (email, events, metrics) and allowing you to self-service and postpone maintenance would decrease customer service load.
