Error: 'The Remote Server Returned an Error: (411) Length Required' When Triggering Primavera Data Service (PDS) Metadata Refresh (Doc ID 2890747.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to trigger the Primavera Data Service metadata refresh by invoking the following PDS endpoint, the request fails and the error below is returned to the client sending the API request:

End Point: POST https://<server-url>/<customer>/pds/rest-service/dataservice/metadata/refresh?configCode=<configCode>

ERROR

The remote server returned an error: (411) Length Required.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Using a third party API tool, send the metadata refresh request to the PDS endpoint.
  2. The error occurs immediately and can be seen in the API client.
