When Bulk Import Is Used And Products URL Pattern Contains {=seoUrlSlugDerived} Some Product URLs Are Duplicate And Others Result In 404 In The Storefront (Doc ID 2897702.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 03, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Cloud Service - Version 22.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The customer is using Products V2 Bulk import to create/update products in their Catalog. The URL pattern for Products is set to /products/{=seoUrlSlugDerived} and the Build URL Slugs operation has been successfully performed in the past so the product URLs are expected to be simplified on the Storefront.

SCENARIO 1

For an imported product that has been confirmed to exist and is Published, Collection pages show non-simplified URLs for some products which if clicked result in a 404 page.

SCENARIO 2

After updating a product's displayName via Bulk import, its simplified URL is not being updated accordingly. This can create duplicate URLs for products when those have similar display names.
