How To Encode a Password when the "encode.sh/cmd" Script Is Not Available (Doc ID 2919192.1)

Last updated on JULY 30, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator on Marketplace - Version 12.2.1.4.200123 and later
Oracle Data Integrator - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

As explained in <Document 423842.1>, the "encode.sh/cmd" script is commonly used for encoding Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) passwords.

However, ODI Enterprise and ODI on MP default installations (ODI J2EE Agent and ODI on MP Jetty/standalone Agent) do not have ODI Command Line Tools available (such as the encode.sh/cmd script), requiring manual installation of a collocated/standalone Agent (see <Document 2374805.1>).

How can one encode a password if the encode.sh/cmd script is not available?
