The Start Date Cannot Be Changed to a Future Date for a Resource Assignment in My Activities in OPC (Doc ID 2919781.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Primavera Cloud Service - Version 22.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

A Resource's (R1) assignment in My Activity is showing as 'In Progress' and has a Start Date in the past, even though it has not yet started.  They are unable to edit the Start date to something in the future that reflects when they actually plan to work on the activity.

This behavior only occurs when another Resource (R2) starts their work before the R1 and the Planned Start date for R1 is before the Planned Start date R2.  If the Planned Start dates are reversed (so that R2's date is before R1's date), and R2 starts their assignment first, R1's assignment remains as 'Not Started'.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Each Resource's assignment on an activity is expected to be independent, so that when one resource makes an update to an activity it would not change the status and Start date for other Resource assignments.

The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

  1. Create an activity with multiple resources assigned to it.
  2. Set the Planned Start date for R1 to a date earlier than for R2.
  3. R2 starts the assignment before R1 has started on it.
  4. Observe the reported behavior.
