OCI Data Integration - Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Connector (BICC) - BICC Extract Returns too Many or too Few Rows
(Doc ID 2927328.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 20, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Integration - Version N/A and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Data Integration Task Run reading from BICC source passes but returns too many or too few rows.
Side notes in case incremental extraction is used in Data Integration Service (DIS) -DataFlow:
- The Data Integration Service/Data Connectivity Management Service (DIS/DCMS) BICC adapter uses BICC's stateless extract API which means DIS/DCMS passes an explicit 'lastExtractDate/initialExtractDate' when triggering extraction. Thus the 'lastExtractionDate' defined in BICC Console is not used. In case we see too much or too little data loaded, this article helps narrow down whether the problem is on DIS/DCMS side (DataFlow) or on the BICC side.
- In case the BICC service cannot apply incremental extract conditions for some reason, it silently falls back to full extraction.
