Applies to:
Oracle Retail Store Operations Cloud Service - Version 22.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Currently when an item is scanned multiple times through a process (i.e. receiving), SOCS is adding +1 to the count of item. As the user can unintentionally scan the same item again, there is no way for user to keep track if they already scanned the item or not, they just get item detail screen and the quantity is incremented by 1.
There should be a prompt if user scanned the item already. The scenario is that the user scans the 1st item, then 2nd, then 3 and then the 1st item again. When the 1st item is scanned for second time, there should be a prompt showing user warning "Item already in the list. Do you want to continue?" If user confirms, item detail screen is prompted and user can amend the quantity if they want.
If the user is already in the item detail screen for the item that they scan then scanning should not prompt any warning, process should remain as is (adding +1).
Business need is that counting process is not being correct as users can scan the item multiple times without knowing and that can lead to discrepancy in what is actually counted and what will be received in the system.
