How to Avoid Primary Supplier Inheritance When Items Are Created Using the ReST Services? (Doc ID 2950316.1)

Last updated on MAY 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service - Version 23.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On: MFCS 23.0.101.2 version

Find that whenever a child item is created with a different vendor, both parent and child items inherit each other primary suppliers. Is there any way to avoid this supplier inheritance?
Also, note that the items are created using the MFCS item subscriber ReST service. Hence need a solution with ReST service functionality.

Example:

1. Parent item is created with only one supplier, (Obvious primary supplier)
2. Child item is created with only one supplier, (Obvious primary supplier)
3. Validate the ITEM_SUPPLIER table

Observation - parent item will have (Primary supplier) and as a secondary supplier. child item will have both (Primary supplier) and as secondary supplier.

Ask - you do not want the child item to inherit the supplier from the parent in the above case.

Could you please confirm if this is designed behavior or if there is any option to achieve this?

Please note - you can use the Induction process to avoid inheriting supplier details from parent items to child items by setting CASCADE_IUD_ITEM_SUPP_COUNTRY to N in CORESVC_ITEM_CONFIG. However, the users need a solution for the ReST services.
