Migration Center does an implicit migration of imported Library Functions but without notification or logging (Doc ID 2952042.1)

Last updated on MARCH 15, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle BigMachines CPQ Cloud Service - Version 23 B and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A package contains two Util BML Library Functions "A" and "B" which exist on both sites.
Function "A" imports function "B" and calls it in the BML code.

When importing the package to the target site, only Function A is selected to be imported.
However, the two Functions are imported to the target site.

The migration center doesn't tell you about the dependency with Function B.
Also, the migration log of util libraries mentions only the migration of Function A.

If we open Function B on target, we can notice that the changes of Function B on source were migrated to target without information, warning or logging.
This is unexpected and in this way admins could migrate BML code without knowing it.
