REST API returns Unauthorized when using basic authentication in OCM Toolkit rest calls (Doc ID 2963211.1)

Symptoms

When compiling a site through the OCM CLI, this CLI uses REST API to obtain certain assets and components. One such request for obtaining asset variations return always a 401 error as Unauthorized.
Server in OCM CLI project has been configured with Basic authentication and the username and password are correct.
