Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
When exporting a project to XER format in P6 Professional, any double-quote (") characters in Activity data are repeated - for example, in a field containing 1.5" the data is converted to 1.5"" in the XER file (and when importing the XER file, the doubled characters are imported to the P6 database). This does not occur when exporting a project to XER via P6 Web.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Double-quote characters should not be doubled in XER files.
The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps.
- In P6 Professional, create a new project.
- Add an Activity, accept the default Activity ID, and enter an Activity Name such as 1" straw tube.
- Export the new project to to Primavera XER format.
- Open the .XER export file in in a text editor (ex. Notepad).
- Find the Activity Name in the TASK table and notice that the activity name is 1"" straw.
