Initial Data Seed Options Are Set As Restricted in 23.1.201.0 (Doc ID 2972481.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Enterprise Inventory Cloud Service - Version 23.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 23.1 version, Administration

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------

The following system configuration options are not available to the admin user in the UI.

 'idl.seed',
 'idl.seed.foundation',
 'idl.seed.store'

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------

Expect these system configuration options to be available to the customer admin user to switch before and after data seeding. Expecting Oracle teams to make such changes causes immense delays with the data seeding process and really should not be restricted to something that needs to be done via a Service Request which could take days or weeks before someone from Cloud Ops or AMS is available to make such a change via their user access.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Login to the SIOCS web client as a user that has the Administrator Role and is assigned the following IDCS app roles and permissions:

{SIOCS Primary APP}.admin_users for example,

RGBU_SIOCS_CFS_EICS.admin_users

{SIOCS Primary APP}.batch_users for example,

RGBU_SIOCS_CFS_EICS.batch_users

Security Permissions for Initial Data Loading

Access Initial Data Load
Submit Initial Data Load
Delete Initial Data Load

2. Go to System Configuration and attempt to update the following options to Yes.

Set Initial Data Load Seed .

  Set Initial Seed Foundation .

Set Initial Data Load Seed Foundation Data .

Notice that these options are not visible.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot continue with Data Seeding activities unless someone from Oracle updates them via the Oracle Sysop user.
