Custom Favicon Not Loaded Through URL 'https://<Custom Domain Root>/favicon.ico', but Oracle's Default One Is Loaded (Doc ID 2972585.1)

Symptoms

We have a web site mapped to a custom domain using the solution in <Document 2176259.1>.
The site is mapped to "https://www.example.com/subdir", also redirect accesses to the domain root (https://example.com/) to /subdir as well.

We have configured favicon to the site, and now we can access it through https://example.com/subdir/favicon.ico. However, https://www.example.com/favicon.ico is not changed but remains Oracle's default favicon. It causes an issue in google search. Search results in google search show Oracle's favicon instead of the custom logo.
