Cannot Edit RTF Document Using 'Edit In Word Online' Option (Doc ID 2977725.1)

Goal

When working in OCM Documents with an RTF and DOC document we do not have to option to share editing using the "Edit in Word Online". I appears that only Office documents that end with the x (i.e. DOCx, XLSX, PPTX) are recognized and can be edited in the online editor.

Is there an OCM configuration we can make to allow old Office docs and RTF type docs to be edited using the Office online interface?
