Oracle Learning Fusion Cloud: BPM (Business Product Managment) Sends Continous Notifications For A Transaction (Doc ID 2997354.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 16, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Learning Management Cloud Service - Version 11.13.23.10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a learner submits a request for a catalog learning item, it generates a transaction flow loop that re-assigns to the same user based on the defined learning request workflow.

In the Manage Default Access settings, the learning item is set to "No Access" in the self-service catalog and the learner is granted access to it via an access group where the initial learning status is set to "Requested". This initial learning status is used to trigger the approval flow in the transaction console, defined with line manager as the approver.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. A user navigating as a learner submits a learning request -> the same user then tries to reject/approve the request using the administrator navigation path.
  2. The workflow is invoked and the line managers receives the notification several times per minute until it blocks all other notifications. This is the message that appears when the workflow begins to loop:
"Web Services Application Identity for HCM reassigned to <Line_Manager>"
