After Fusion Upgrade To 24A, AP Approvals Shows Error: Potential Code Issue (Doc ID 3009722.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to approve invoices after to upgrade to release 24A the following error occurs.

Potential code issue in the approval flow caused a system error in the orchestration flow.

Invoice approval workflow log file shows:

An error occurs while processing the XPath expression; the expression is oraext:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('fareRoutingSlip')).
The XPath expression failed to execute; the reason was: oracle.fabric.common.xml.xpath.XPathFunctionException: Expected ';'.
Check the detailed root cause described in the exception message text and verify that the XPath query is correct.
