Symptoms

In a workbook in edit mode, expand 2nd dataset does not work

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create DS1 which contains two tables
  2. Create DS2 which contains two tables
  3. Add DS1 and DS2 into the the same workbook, note that DS1 and DS2 should be unrelated/not joined
  4. Drag a column in DS1 to canvas 1
  5. Drag a column in DS2 to canvas 2
  6. Save the workbook
  7. Go back to homepage, and refresh the whole browser tab (F5) --- this is to clear any column info cache from UI side, and this step is important
  8. After refresh, open the workbook
  9. Click the pencil button to enter edit mode
  10. Check that the 2nd dataset cannot be expanded
  11. Go to Data tab, the 2nd dataset can be expanded successfully
  12. Go back to Visualize, found that double clicking on the columns in 2nd dataset doesn't work. opening context menu on columns and select 'create best visualisations' works.
