Updating Activity Owner Using P6 WS Does Not Update the Activity Last Modified Date (Doc ID 3017169.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When updating Activity Owner on an Activity the behavior between P6 Web and P6 Web Services is inconsistent. When updating the Activity Owner in P6 Web the Last Modified Date of the Activity is also updated. When updating the Activity Owner using P6 Web Services the Last Modified Date is not updated.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The Last Modified Date should be updated when updating the Activity Owner using P6 Web Services.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Assign an Activity Owner to two activities in P6 Web. Note the Last Modified Date.
  2. Change the Activity Owner for one activity in P6 Web and see that the Last Modified Date has changed.
  3. Use P6 Web Services to change the Activity Owner on another activity. For example:
    <v1:UpdateActivityOwners>
       <!--1 or more repetitions:-->
       <v1:ActivityOwner>
          <!--Optional:-->
          <v1:ActivityObjectId>476571</v1:ActivityObjectId>
          <v1:UserObjectId>1104</v1:UserObjectId>
       </v1:ActivityOwner>
    </v1:UpdateActivityOwners>
  4. Notice that the Activity Owner changes but the Last Modified data of the activity remains unchanged.
