Pages Using Newly Uploaded Extension Return 404 (Doc ID 3034535.1)

Symptoms

After uploading a new Server Side Extension, when navigating to pages that utilize this SSE, a 404 error is occurring.

After uploading extension, SSE log indicates that package.json was missing/corrupt:

Note:  There is no client side error occurring while uploading the extension; it appears to complete successfully.

ERROR

On navigation: 404

In SSE Logs: ENOENT


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will by navigating to various places in the site that use the affected SSE, including checkout in this case.

1. home page
2. add anything to cart
3. checkout
