BP Custom Print In XLS Format Does Not Return Results: ...ServerException...Invalid format requested: xlsx (Doc ID 3035483.1)

Symptoms

BP Custom Print In XLS Format Does Not Return Results: ...ServerException...Invalid format requested: xlsx

When triggering a Custom Print for a Business Process (BP) record in XLS format by clicking on the Options (gear) icon to the left of the row for the record in the BP log, and selecting Print > Custom, a window pops up where the data would be returned. However, after the processing resolves in a few seconds no data is returned. There is only a blank/empty/white window.

Something similar to the following is written to the log files:

[root] com.sun.xml.ws.fault.ServerSOAPFaultException: Client received SOAP Fault from server: oracle.xdo.webservice.exception.OperationFailedException: PublicReportService::generateReport for reportAbsolutePath [/UnifierReports/unifier/uuu_*/uuu_*.xdo] failed: due to oracle.xdo.server.ServerException: oracle.xdo.servlet.data.DataException: Invalid format requested: xlsx Please see the server log to find more detail regarding exact cause of the failure.

* where this would be the unique ID for the Custom Print item in the Custom Templates node.

The record print in both HTML and PDF format are returning results as expected

Changes

This issue only occurs after updating to version 24.4.
