When Double Byte Characters Are Used in Form Field Help Text in RTF Template, They Are Truncated When You Saved the Template (Doc ID 3045359.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion General Ledger Cloud Service - Version 11.13.24.04.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.13.24.04.0 version, Custom Reports and Analytics

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

When BIP Datamodel creates XML data whose XML element tags are double bytes such as <部門番号>10</部門番号> and those tags are used in Text Form Field in RTF Template directly, they are truncated in RTF templates.

Save the above RTF template and reopen it.
You see the element name in "Text Form Field Help Text" is truncated as follows.

MS Word in Office 365 & Oracle Analytics Publisher Desktop 12.2.7.0.0 are used for the above test.

The problem doesn't occur when XML element is single byte character.

An old RTF template may include Double Byte characters in "Form Field Help Text".
However, the template works without problem as long as you don't open the template and change & Save it.

You hit the problem when you try to change anything about the template using a recent version of MS word.

Changes

The version of Microsoft Word has been changed though we are not sure since which version the problem has starts.
