When Attempting to Open a Unifier Attachment That Was Downloaded via the Get File Rest Call, the Following Message Is Being Displayed: "Something went wrong when the document preview was being created. Please try again later." (Doc ID 3045637.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Using REST Call "ws/rest/service/v1/dm/file/download/<fileid>" to download file from Unifier and Sending the file through email, the file is finally downloaded. But when attempting to open the file the following Alert message is displayed:

"Something went wrong when the document preview was being created. Please try again later."

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Users should be able to open the file from the email attachment which was downloaded via the REST call.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Download the file from the Unifier using REST call "ws/rest/service/v1/dm/file/download/<fileid>" and send that file through an Email client.
  2. Users receive the email with the file attachment, but when attempting to open it the Alert message noted above is displayed.
  3. When trying the process again several minutes later with the same API and for the same fileid, the new attempt is successful and the attachment from the Email can be opened and viewed.
