Installing NPM Dependencies From VBS Npm Registry With Node 20.15.1 And Npm 10.8.2 Does Not Work (Doc ID 3046756.1)

Symptoms

Installing NPM dependencies from VBS npm registry with node 20.15.1 and npm 10.8.2 does not work.

Previously Node 14.21.3, npm version 6.4.18 and a .npmrc file containing credentials (authToken) was used and it worked as expected (in order to to resolve and fetch dependencies from VBS NPM registry).

After upgrading to LTS version of node (20.15.1) and npm version 10.8.2, user no longer fetch the dependency from VBS NPM registry.

The following error is encountered:
