Symptoms

This document guides you on how to investigate high memory utilization and to Respond if you receive an alert triggered by alarms definitions from the OCI Console .

A warning Alarm will trigger if memory is consumed more than the defined THRESHOLD Value . You can identify that by reviewing the metrics graphs specifically memory utilization graph in the OCI console

Changes

 Key points to consider in metrics graph:

Analyze the trend of memory utilization over time.

1. A gradual increase tells that your application workload is growing

         - Sometimes Memory will grow after a recent mysqld restart as the mysql server slowly fills its buffer pool. A gradual growth after a restart is common and normal. 

2.sudden spikes may indicate specific queries or operations that are resource-intensive.
