FAW:FDI:FDIP: DFF Configuration Fails With The Error - "Selected attributes contain invalid character" (Doc ID 3055785.1)

Symptoms

In FDI > Data Configuration > Custom Data Configurations > Descriptive Flex Fields, cannot configure DFF field for PER_GRADES_DF.

Receive the following error:

Selected attributes contain invalid character. Characters such as ,@# aren't supported and maximum number of supported characters is 255.

Usually this means the definition of the DFF within HCM has one of those characters in the PROMPT field. This is not the case. It does not have any special characters in it.
