Behavior When Hierarchy Is Reclassified (Doc ID 3057696.1)

Goal

Would like to understand the behavior of Retail Insights when there is a reclassification of hierarchy, for example, when a department moves from one group to another.

It is expected that on the RI side, the items belonging to this hierarchy (in its current version) are exploded and a new record is created for these items referencing the new hierarchy. In the same way as occurs when the reclassification is by item.
The point you would like to understand is: What happens to the inactive items in this reclassified hierarchy (when their current/last version was discontinued in the hierarchy)?

Is there any documentation that technically explains how this process is carried out on the Retail Insights side?
