Unable to Submit the Record. Alert ERROR2:Gateway Time-Out Status:504 Is Displayed (Doc ID 3061746.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to Send the "X" Business Process record, the system doesn't respond and displays the spinning wheel for 5-10 mins and then returns the Alert message below.

Alert Error2:Gateway Time-out Status:504 is displayed.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Log into Prod
  2.  Navigate to the desired Project > Task Manager > Drafts > Open a record from here and Send it forward. Observe the spinning wheel. The system eventually displays the Alert message as mentioned above.
  3.  Observe the spinning wheel. The system eventually displays the Alert "Error2:Gateway Time-out Status:504 is displayed."
