Goal
For the purposes of this document, the following fictitious environment is used as an example to describe the procedure:
- Region 1:
- Primary Database
- Standby1 (MaxAvailability Sync)
- Region 2:
- Standby2
- Standby3 (MaxAvailability Async due to a different data center)
How to automatically change Standby3 from Async to Sync when a failover occurs to Standby2 (making it the new primary, which is in the same region as Standby3).
