Need For A Dedicated SLA For DAMS (Doc ID 3074294.1)

Last updated on MARCH 05, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Accounting Foundation Cloud Service - Version NA and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

DAMS 24D Admin Guide talks about the requirement for a dedicated SL for DAMS manual adjustments. The Admin Guide section 2.1.3 4th bullet point states "The fourth batch is for posting DAMS adjustments to Oracle GL using a
dedicated SLA for DAMS. A dedicated SLA for DAMS manual adjustments should be configured, outlined in AFCS configuration documents"

We have the below questions on this requirement :

1. Why does DAMS require a dedicated SLA? Can we not use an existing Pre-accounted/Passthrough SLA with an event type called "ADJUSTMENT". Is this a product enforced requirement? Kindly clarify.

2. If DAMS requires a dedicated SLA, Can we have 2 SLAs within the same instance of DAMS. This could possibly mean a design to define event type based on the template - i.e 2 templates using 2 different SLAs : TEMPLATE 1 having an event type of ADJUSTMENT1 using SLA 1, and TEMPLATE 2 having an event type of ADJUSTMENT2 using SLA 2. Is this just about having a template to capture the appropriate event type and have that event type configured in an SLA (or) is there some fundamental requirement with the product needing a dedicated SLA that we need to be aware of. Kindly clarify.
