Clarification About Over/Short Totals (Doc ID 3074822.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service - Version 24.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Clarification about Over/Short totals utilization, regarding a scenario where no totals are captured in the sales system (POS or OMS) and, hence, no total will be interfaced into Sales Audit CS through RTLOG upload.

Initially, it was considered not defining any over/short total. However, Sales Audit Implementation Guide says that "Although no totals are initially loaded into Sales Audit, there are two totals that are expected to be created in this category - Store-level Over/Short (OVRSHT_S) and Balance-level Over/Short (OVRSHT_B)."

- Are these totals (OVRSHT_S, OVRSHT_B) truly mandatory?
- If so, what issues will arise if these totals are not defined?
