Symptoms

Multi-threaded applications may die with SIGBUS or SIGSEGV errors when creating a new thread.

The thread receiving the signal may contain the following stack. Solaris 8 with the old thread library, or Solaris 7 and before:

_alloc_thread()
_thrp_create()
_thr_create()
or
_alloc_thread()
_thrp_create()
pthread_create()

Solaris 9 and later, or Solaris 8 with the alternate thread library:

memset()
_thrp_create()
_thr_create()
or
memset()
_thrp_create()
pthread_create()
