Calling the Same Stored PROCEDURE Twice Fails With ORA-01036 (Doc ID 1019103.6)

Symptoms

  1. A Pro*COBOL main program does an

    EXEC SQL CONNECT

    without the AT clause.

  2. This program calls a subprogram which tries to do another

    EXEC SQL CONNECT

    statement as well.

  3. The connect in the main program is fine.

  4. Connect of the subprogram Fails With

    ORA-01075: you are currently logged on.

  5. The subprogram attempts to do an

    EXEC SQL EXECUTE BEGIN ... END

    statement  fails with

    ORA-01036: illegal variable name/number
