RDBPROD: SQLSRV-E-MSGOVERRUN Error When Client Connects to Rdb via OCI Services (Doc ID 104356.1)

You install and configure OCI Services on OpenVMS. The OCI_DISP dispatcher and <OCI service> are created and running.

When clients connect to the <OCI service> using an application such as SQL*Plus, they receive the following error:

TNS-12537 TNS:connection closed

At the time of the failure, the dispatcher log contains the following entries:

%SQLSRV-I-EVENT_LOG, event logged at line 707 in file MSG_COM_OCI.C;1
%SQLSRV-E-SQSMSGERROR, Oracle SQL/Services MSG-layer error, client:
%SQLSRV-E-SQSMSGINTERR, Internal error in Oracle SQL/Services  compatibility-mode MSG layer (args: 03A7D12A 00000000)
%SQLSRV-E-MSGOVERRUN, An attempt was made to put more data into a message than it can hold
