Symptoms


You might be having a server with a high number of processors (> 48 CPUs) and no matter how high the DB Processes/ Sessions parameter is set, the instance seems to run out of processes/ sessions when Parallel operations are run and ORA-00018/ ORA-00020 errors are seen.

Changes

Added more CPUs to the system, or moved to a system with a higher number of processors.
