SES Search Errors - ORA-12899 and DRG-50949 Too Many SQEs (Doc ID 1053618.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) users may encounter errors similar to the following when searching:

ORA-12899: value too large for column "CTXSYS"."DR$SQE"."SQE_QUERY" (actual: 2344, maximum: 2000)

DRG-50949: too many SQEs


In addition the following errors may be seen in the SES OC4J log:

ORA-06512: at "EQSYS.EQ_SEC", line 673
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
DRG-50857: oracle error in drixmd.CreateSQE
ORA-12899: value too large for column "CTXSYS"."DR$SQE"."SQE_QUERY" (actual: 2344, maximum: 2000)
DRG-50949: too many SQEs


If the number of data sources in the SES instance is reduced, the errors do not reproduce.
