How to Create a Context Index Using a Function (Doc ID 1063279.1)

This document will show an example of how to create a CONTEXT Index using a function.

If you try to create a CONTEXT index using a function you will get below error, as function-based index is not supported.

DRG-11304: function-based indexes are not supported by this indextype

In below example we want to eliminate the spaces in this field is to simplify our search.
Some last names can have multiple spellings.

Example:

Vandeberg
Van de berg
Van deberg
Vande berg
