Additional Setup Requirements When Using ORAMTS With 11g Database (Doc ID 1064469.1)

Last updated on MARCH 17, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server - Version 9.2.0.8.0 and later
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.2.0.1 and later
Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)

Symptoms

Recovery of In-Doubt transactions that were initiated by the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) may not occur on an 11g database without additional setup steps.

This may result in rows appearing in DBA_2PC_PENDING or ORAMTS_2PC_PENDING as the transaction outcome is not able to be determined, or errors such as
ORA-01591:  lock held by in-doubt distributed transaction

Changes

The problem documented in this note is unrelated to the version of client being used, but is specific to an 11g database, due to the new security restrictions introduced in 11g.
