On : 11.2 version, deinstall utility insisted on removing listeners running from a different oracle_home
When testing the 11.2 deinstaller on a server that contains Multiple Oracle Homes, the deinstaller stopped the listeners and deleted their entries from listener.ora. The listeners were running from other Oracle Home and had common listener.ora file set by "TNS_ADMIN" and not running under 11.2 ORACLE_HOME
How can we prevent the deinstaller from de-configuring the listeners and only removing the software from the 11.2 Oracle Home and Inventory?
The deinstaller would not accept a response that didn't include at least one of the listeners.
"Invalid listener list [x]. You can only specify a subset of the configured listeners."
The result is while deinstalling Oracle 11gR2 Home, it goes to stop / deconfigure all the listener services for other Oracle Homes.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Attempting to deinstall an 11gR2 Oracle Home on a server with Multiple Oracle Homes.
The listeners on the server were running under other Oracle Home and had common listener.ora file set by "TNS_ADMIN" and not running under 11.2 ORACLE_HOME
