ORA-32349 When Creating Materialized View on Prebuilt table in 11GR2 (Doc ID 1068662.1)

Last updated on MARCH 19, 2012

Applies to:

Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition - Version: 11.2.0.1 and later   [Release: 11.2 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Reviewed 19-Mar-2012.

Symptoms

A prebuilt table, a remote base table, and the materialized view to be created all have the same owner (REPTEST) and the same object name (TEST).   When the mview is created it generates an "ORA-32349: cannot reference prebuilt table in definition query for materialized view" error.   This does not happen in versions before 11gR2.

Example:
create materialized view REPTEST.TEST
on prebuilt table refresh FAST
as select * from REPTEST.TEST@src_link;

Changes

Database was upgraded to 11gR2.
