RMAN Cannot see backups taken at Standby site from Primary (and vice versa) in 11G (Doc ID 1070039.1)

RMAN is used to take backups mainly at the standby site in an 11G Data Guard implementation using a recovery catalog. When rman is invoked from the target database, none of the backups created at the standby site can be seen. Likewise, if rman is invoked from the standby site, none of the backups from the primary site can be seen either. All backups go to disk.
