ORA-00600 [12761] with ORA-22813 from PL/SQL code with OCI calls (Doc ID 1070928.1)

Last updated on MARCH 29, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4 [Release 10.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

While running a PLSQL package that uses OCI calls, we can hit the following errors:

ORA-600: internal error code, arguments: [12761], [], [], [], [], [], []
ORA-22813: operand value exceeds system limits

The call stack contains the following functions:

psdsbaa pevm_SBVAR pfrinstr_SBVAR pfrrun_no_tool pfrrun plsql_run

One observation we can make is that we hit the error when doing operations on high amount of data. If we decrease the amount of rows we can avoid ORA-600.
