Symptoms

When trying to open (or attach) a restored database, the following errors are reported in the monitor log file:

18-MAR-2010 07:28:04.05 - Received open database request from 2180AD94:0
- process name ProcessName, user USERNAME
- database name "DISK:[DIR]ROOT_FILE.RDB;1" [_$1$DGA7353] (13,3,0)
- unable to create NODGBL
- %COSI-F-VASFULL, virtual address space full
- %SYSTEM-W-REGISFULL, specified region is full
- starting shutdown of database:
- %RDMS-F-CANTCREGBL, error creating and mapping database global section
- -SYSTEM-W-REGISFULL, specified region is full
- sending open database reply to 2180AD94:0
- %RDMS-F-CANTOPENDB, database could not be opened as requested
- -RDMS-F-CANTCREGBL, error creating and mapping database global section
- -SYSTEM-W-REGISFULL, specified region is full
- database shutdown is complete
