ORA-28011 Password Expiry Date is Reached But Reset to NULL

You try to age passwords through a profile and set PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME 1/2880. The following warning message is reported:

ORA-28011: the account will expire soon; change your password now

SQL> create profile worker limit password_life_time 1/2880;
Profile created.

SQL> create user jeff identified by jeff profile worker;
User created.

SQL> alter user jeff profile worker;
User altered.

SQL> select username, expiry_date from dba_users where username='JEFF';

USERNAME                       EXPIRY_DA
------------------------------ ---------
JEFF                           29-NOV-01

SQL> grant connect,resource to jeff;
Grant succeeded.

SQL> connect jeff/jeff

When you log in as jeff/jeff after 30 seconds, when the password expires, the error ORA-28011 is reported, but the expiry date is set to NULL.

SQL> connect jeff/jeff
ORA-28011: the account will expire soon; change your password now

SQL> select username, expiry_date from dba_users;

USERNAME                          EXPIRY_DATE
------------------------------ -----------------
