Last updated on AUGUST 12, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Rdb Server on OpenVMS - Version 7.3 to 7.3.1.0 [Release 7.3]
Oracle JDBC for Rdb - Version 7.3 to 7.3.1.0 [Release 7.3]
Oracle Rdb Extension for SQL Developer - Version 7.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Chapter 2.3.2 of the Oracle Rdb Extension for SQL Developer User's Guide V7.3 describes how to run RMU reports, and specifies that this requires Command Line (CLI) access, which is not the default for the JDBC for Rdb server. The following example shows how to enable CLI access (copied from the User's Guide):

<server
     name = "SRV1"
     type = "RdbThinSrv"
     url = "//mynode:1701/"
     configfile = "my_rdbjdbccfg.xml"
     allowAccessToCL = "true">
       <allowPrivUser name = "jdbc_user"/>
       <allowPrivUser name = "smith"/>
       <allowPrivUser name = "jones"/>
</server>

However, even if the xml formatted configuration file is set up as shown in the User's Guide, running RMU reports in SQL Developer may fail.

SQL Developer reports:

vendor code 99028.

The JDBC Server log shows:

Cannot run program "rdbjdbc_execcli": Child creation error: no such file or directory
