Symptoms


A 11.1 Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC) connection to SQL*Server gives the following error -

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28513: internal error in heterogeneous remote agent
ORA-02063: preceding line from GTW_LINK


A gateway debug trace shows -

Exiting hgolgon, rc=28513 at 2010/04/14-10:03:11 with error ptr FILE:hgolgon.c LINE:550 ID:Memory allocate


An Oracle trace file shows -

Trace file <trace_directory>/ora_25937_1.trc
OCI-21500: internal error code, arguments: [17182], [0x4000000000007F30], [], [], [], [], [], []
...
...
kgepop: no error frame to pop to for error 21500
OCI-21500: internal error code, arguments: [17182], [0x4000000000007F30], [], [], [], [], [], []


Using 11.2 DG4ODBC the following error is returned -

ORA-01017 - invalid username/password; logon denied
