Symptoms

Failed trying to open standby database for read-only.


SQL> alter database open read only;
alter database open read only

ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory

Changes

Missing datafiles are offline but still part of an online tablespace.
