How to validate Oracle Spatial in the DBA_REGISTRY (Doc ID 1100898.1)

Last updated on APRIL 25, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Spatial and Graph - Version 10.2.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This document will explain how to validate Oracle Spatial in the DBA_REGISTRY if it is currently INVALID.

If there were invalid Spatial objects in the database, the Oracle Spatial component will be set to INVALID in the dba_registry.  The component status may have been changed during an install, upgrade or if running utlrp.sql.

Be advised that the XDB component is prerequisite to Spatial and must also have a Status of VALID.

If the invalid Oracle Spatial objects have been corrected and the user MDSYS does not have any invalid objects, then the DBA_REGISTRY validation procedure for Oracle Spatial will need to be run again.
