RDBPROD: How to create graphical displays from RMU/SHOW STATISTICS (Doc ID 1104603.1)

Last updated on APRIL 16, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Rdb Server on OpenVMS - Version 7.1 and later
HP OpenVMS Itanium
HP OpenVMS Alpha

Goal

It is possible to create a graphical report from RMU/SHOW STATISTICS using menu option "O"  and then selecting "A" for "Write report (graph)".  However, it is a cumulative snapshot taken at the point in time it is generated.

If you want to create a time-line analysis to perhaps try and identify a performance spike, or collect displays for presentation purposes, then you can use the T4 program Oracle includes in the installation kit and the PC tool TLVIZ, available from HP.

Note: Oracle Rdb Support does not support TLVIZ or T4. The PERFT4 tool is provided for your convenience only.

NOTE: The data used below are not actual PRODUCTION or Customer Data.  They are being used ONLY to demonstrate the problem/solution discussed in this note.
